Cultivating History & Sustainability
Preserving Belize
From preserving a pristine 16,000-acre nature reserve to implementing daily practices that minimize our carbon footprint, Copal Tree Lodge is dedicated to conservation and fostering local economic development.
The majority of our restaurant dishes feature organic produce sourced directly from our farm.
We proudly serve sustainable, line-caught fish and seasonal seafood, purchased from local day boat fishermen.
Our commitment to preserving Belize’s indigenous cuisine drives us to cultivate heirloom crops on our 3,000-acre organic farm.
We create a global marketplace for Belizean products through our on-site chocolate, coffee, and rum production at Copal Tree Lodge.
We craft furniture and building materials from our own sustainably harvested wood.
As part of our extensive agroforestry program, we plant thousands of trees each year to support local wildlife and the environment.
Environmental Conservation
Guests can join us to conserve water by reusing their linens and towels during their stay. This practice not only reduces water and energy consumption but also minimizes detergent wastewater that needs recycling within our community.
In our commitment to conservation, we have implemented a state-of-the-art, gravity-fed rainwater collection and filtration system. During the dry season from March to May, we appreciate guests’ efforts to conserve rainwater by reusing towels and using water wisely.
For drinking water, we ask guests to refill their complimentary water bottles with filtered water from their rooms or designated stations throughout the lodge.
