This was our 4th stop/lodge in Belize. We started up north and made our way south. Belcampo was by far my favourite place, and made my holiday! I have forgotten the names of the various staff, we loved everybody. We were collected by such a lovely guy at the airport. Everyone was so friendly and still professional. We were in the ridge suite, 4 suites separate to the main lodge, which share a beautiful pool up at the top of the mountain. Its private, secluded, has one of the most perfectly placed bathtubs on the balcony overlooking the most amazing view of sheer jungle. Gorgeous rooms. No complaint at all. We loved the area of the main lobby and restaurant… Again with stunning views. Food was fabulous, and I mostly enjoyed my breakfast and the best hot chocolate i have ever had… We didnt have to pay for each item at breakfast like at other lodges, this was all included. I appreciate this. And complimentary laundry was taken care of daily., this is a huge PLUS in my opinion. These little details are so important for travellers like me. We didnt do any excursions but I know there was a lot on offer. I adored trying to spot the toucans and the howler monkeys each day. Free bikes available, beautiful farm to explore, the freshest produce. When we went cycling, we took a silly wrong turn and my son had an accident, fell on some rocks and landed up with a bloodied leg.Within seconds 2 jeeps had arrived to pick us up…dont ask me how they knew we were in trouble. l couldnt believe the efficiency of Belcampo. To the south african couple who are managing it: you are doing a fab job! I would recommend this lodge to everybody. Great for kids. We went with our 9 year old son who LOVED IT, and who will never forget the hamburger on the menu, the doughnuts and the howler monkeys. I miss those views and the ridge suite. Lol.
