Spa Devine

Went for the spa treatment and it was everything I needed and more. Stayed for lunch. The spinach dip and plantain chips I recommend, but if you are on your own ask for a small portion. I followed it up with a wrap. The chicken was good. Not great, a bit too heavy on the raisins. The service is impeccable.

Definitely Stay Here

The sum of the parts makes Belcampo Belize one of those special places; the parts being: * The lodge is perfectly suited to it’s rainforest hill-top terrain as the reception/bar & lobby area open to this secluded setting. * The meals are beautifully served on open decks that continue the lobby’s extension. * The staff, which is like a family, are personable and efficient. * The Suites have screened in porches with hammocks and bedrooms that are spacious with just enough furnishings; in other words, not cluttered. * The bathroom sinks could be better; however, the showers are what you hope for in a tropical setting – large with colorful tiles & a big exterior window. * The spectacular, spacious & beautifully furnished Ridge Suites with wraparound porches and an infinity swimming pool. Yes, the bathtubs also enjoy the spectacular infinity views. * The lodge pool area is comfortable and exactly where you gravitate to relax. * Just adjacent thereto is the spa, which received great comments from our fellow travelers. * Belcampo per se isn’t a resort, you’re meant to get out and about – a host of activities including fishing, snorkeling with the Chief, birding, hiking, learning how […]

Exceeded my expectations

Belcampo’s family of locals who graciously greet, serve, accompany and teach us about the area are the backbone of bringing the farm to table, the roots of the lodges ideologies. From the soil of the lodge to the tables of their guest to the serene environment tucked away in a tropical jungle and the sounds of the monkeys lull you back to days of enjoying every site, new sounds and appreciation for how you were lucky enough to be here. The staff, the food, the rooms, the spa, the monkeys, the fishing, hiking the lifestyles of the natives awaken a sense of awareness to be a better person each and every day. Everyone and everything was incredible. Put belcampo lodge on your bucket list.

Great family experience

We had a wonderful stay with our children (5yo and 8yo) We especially enjoyed the farm tour, tasting all of the wonderful produce grown on site. We also had a lot of fun with the chocolate and tortilla making classes. The staff organized everything perfectly, the on and off-site activities, domestic transportation, etc. All the staff were friendly and took the time to share their stories with us, especially Elon and Yvette. The dining experience was superb, I was impressed with what they have created from all the food grown on site. The jungle suites have excellent views of sunrise, we were greeted by howler monkeys near our veranda every morning. The perfect mix of nature, culture and farm food experience.

An Amazing Week In The Jungle

While trout fishing in Montana with Corey Street (our guide) Corey started talking about this awesome place called Bel Campo and bone fishing in Belize. Corey got me so excited I asked my husband to get us a reservation quickly before all the slots were taken for the season. Corey’s description was “right on” as our experience was awesome. I am far from being a “bone fisher woman” but Yogi (our guide) was so patient with me and helped me with technique so that I was able to catch a few fish. More so, my husband caught even more fish than I with Yogi’s expert guidance. The bird walking tour with Chan, the monkeys in the trees outside our room on top of the ridge, the infinity pool, the Mayan tour, sleeping one night out on the reef with Shirley’s wonderful dinner and breakfast, the fantastic snorkeling with Captain Jacque, the chef who made cervich from a fresh conch brought up from the reef, a relaxing massage, the fantastic staff ( particularly Dwayne, Mark and Desmond who were so fun and loved to play jokes on us) all made for a memories we will cherish for ever. A First Class […]

Amazing Jungle Lodge in Beautiful Belize

We spent a week here in February. It is remote and will take some extra effort to get to but is well worth it. There are 4 Ridge suites that are high above the rest of the resort in the jungle canopy. These suites have their own infinity pool and wrap around private balconies. Our welcoming committee was a troupe of howler monkeys! There were parrots and aracaris in the trees bright and early! You can ask for coffee and muffins to be brought up in the morning. There is a soaker tub on the bathroom balcony – it’s lovely to see the nature all around you while having a soak. The king-sized bed in our Ridge suite was extremely comfortable. The food was not 5 star haute cuisine but very good by Central American standards. They did a few things very well and some things not so well. Breakfast is included with the room price and it is very generous with fresh squeezed OJ, seasonal fruit and a basket of pastries that change daily – you likely won’t even have to order off the menu. I would recommend NOT buying a “meal plan” unless you are one of those […]

Family Fun in the Jungle

Our family of five recently visited Belcampo Lodge for a week. I have to admit, the day we arrived I had a minor freak-out that we had made a big mistake because 1) I was afraid our one year old would fall off of one of the incredibly steep drop offs and 2) I was afraid our five and seven year olds would be bored with no other kids around to play with. Let me tell you – I was worried for nothing! We did have to be careful not to let the little one run around in many areas, but it really wasn’t so different from our usual level of vigilance walking down the street (we live in a busy urban area with lots of traffic). The Lodge was even able to arrange for babysitting for him for a couple of days, which was so nice, and allowed us to do some more adventurous stuff with the big kids. He was also able to run around a lot inside our accommodation (the Family Villa), which was HUGE, with two screened porches, and all on one level. Best of all, he was treated like a little prince by every single […]

Headed back for our 4th visit in a year!

We found Belcampo through Orvis. My husband wanted a small resort where he could fly fish and I could too, or I could go to the spa, sit by the pool, explore the area and enjoy amazing food and drinks. Orvis suggested Belcampo and a year ago we made our first trip there. Before we left we booked the one we leave in 10 days for and we have been twice since. YES, it is that awesome. It is a eco-lodge in the rain forest where the holler monkeys play all day and night. Hubby leaves in the morning to fish and I spend the day how I want. The food is amazing and most of the ingredients are sourced on site. I enjoyed spending a day on the Belcampo farm learning all about their practices. Our favorite activity is Snorkel with the Chef. You leave in the morning with Captain Jack, Chef Renee, Mark at the Bar and Desmond to guide you. Yes, you really snorkel for your lunch, well Captain Jack does most of it and Chef Renee cooks up a feast. Mark makes the most wonderful drinks and the day goes by too fast. The spa has […]
